Sevda Abaci-Magotch

Studio Director

Sevda Abaci-Magotch earned her Associates degree in Humanities and her Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science and Drama from New York University. She holds a law degree from Rutgers School of Law and was admitted to the New Jersey Bar in 1991. Sevda's passion for the arts was sparked at the age of four when she attended her first Broadway show. Since then, she has been involved in the production of numerous plays and musicals and has attended hundreds of productions in countless venues from community theatre to Broadway. Sevda's greatest desire is to pass her love and appreciation for the arts to children and to inspire them to always live their dreams.

 

Amanda Magotch Cain

Studio Director/Artistic Director/Instructor/

X-Team Choreographer

Amanda entered the doors of her first dance studio at the age of four and hasn’t stopped dancing since. She came alive on the stage at the age of seven when she began dancing competitively. Since then, Amanda has achieved enormous regional and national success in the competitive circuit. As a dancer and performer specializing in lyrical, ballet, jazz, musical theatre, and acro-dance, she has performed on numerous stages and venues throughout the country including Walt Disney World, South Street Seaport, Six Flags, Paper Mill Playhouse, Madison Square Garden, John Harms Center for the Performing Arts and Universal Studios. Amanda was accepted into the School of American Ballet's summer program on scholarship at the age of 9. She began attaining recognition in the competition dance world at the age of ten when she was named Junior Miss Footloose and throughout her competitive career she has won numerous titles including Junior Miss Nexstar, Junior Miss Star Systems, Junior Miss Superstar, Junior Miss Dance Rave, Teen Miss Footloose, Teen Miss Beyond the Stars, Judges Choice Awards, Broadway Bound Award, Best Performance Award, 1st Overall Soloist, 1st Overall Duet/Trio, several photogenic awards and placements in the Top 5 at both regional and national competitions. When Amanda wasn't competing, she was thrilled to be working as a model for Capezio Dancewear. She has trained with many master teachers including Shelia Barker, Mia Michaels and Tyce Diorio to name just a few. Amanda has built an excellent reputation as a dance instructor and choreographer. Amanda's choreography has earned a multitude of choreography awards on both a Regional and National level! Her dances have won numerous 1st Overall placements, Entertainment Awards, Impact Awards, Dance Off Championships, and the Stellar Award, which is the highest scoring routine of the competition. Most recently one of her students landed a spot on the Temple University Dance Team AND the University of Delaware Dance Team! Miss Amanda earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology and Mathematics with a concentration in Education from Fairleigh Dickinson University. Amanda's goal is to inspire students to be the best they can be, and "dance from your heart with JOY!". It is an absolute dream come true for Amanda to be able to share her love, passion, and contagious enthusiasm for dance as the owner of Amanda's DanceXtensions!

Jay Martin

Acro/Dance Instructor/X-Team Choreographer

Jay began his training as a gymnast and segued into dance at the age of twelve. He hasn’t stopped dancing since then and has won numerous national and regional titles and 1st Overall awards. He was one of the first boys to be accepted into, and attend The New Jersey Governor’s School of the Arts on a full scholarship, and also received full scholarships to The Washington School of Ballet and School of American Ballet’s summer intensive programs. Jay was offered the lead role in the National Tour of Cats as Mr. Mistoffelees, and dazzled audiences throughout the world as a dancer, acrobat, and aerial artist for several Royal Caribbean Cruise ships. He has performed at such venues as Madison Square Garden, the Prudential Center, The Grove & the Dolby Theatre in California, where he performed with Miley Cyrus. While living in California, Jay was signed with one of the top dance agencies in the business, MSA Agency.  Jay has been offered leading roles to perform for Tokyo Disney, Disneyland, and Cirque Du Soleil in Las Vegas. His professional credits also include performing for Walt Disney’s Toy Story 3 at the Kodak Theatre, a Reebok Industrial, and starring in an ABC promo commercial. He can be seen in the pilot episode of the WB's Gossip Girl as well as the feature film Gracie starring Elizabeth Shue. Jay has had the privilege of working with prominent choreographers Marguerite Dereks, Travis Payne, and Jimmy Locust to name a few and had the honor of assisting classes taught by legendary Frank Hatchett. Jay has also performed as a backup dancer for Selena Gomez, Miley Cyrus, Ashley Tisdale, Liz Phair and Kristine W. Currently Jay is teaching acrobatics and dance, to kids of all ages, at a competitive level at studios around New Jersey. His choreography has won numerous regional and national Overall, Entertainment, Acro Excellence Awards, and Choreography awards. Jay is excited to be choreographing numerous competition routines as well as teaching classes at ADXT!

Nick Lundquist

Acro/Dance Instructor/X-Team Choreographer

Nick started his dance training at an early age in California and was awarded a full scholarship to Pacific Northwest Ballet. As a member of a competition dance team, he received numerous awards regionally and nationally in solos and group routines. Nick has performed as a dancer, acrobat and aerial artist on many cruises for Royal Caribbean Cruise Lines and has entertained audiences around the world with his energetic dance style. While working professionally in California, Nick was signed with DDO Artists Agency. His professional accomplishments also include dancing in the Rose Parade, performing for  a Sketchers Industrial, and the National Tour of Moving Out choreographed by Twyla Tharp. Nick has been offered leading roles to perform for Tokyo Disney, Disneyland, and Cirque Du Soleil in Las Vegas. He has trained with choreographers such as Mia Michaels, Mandy Moore, and Terri Best to name a few. Nick is thrilled to be teaching various levels of students at ADXT!​​

Katie Elise

Hip Hop Dance Instructor/X-Team Choreographer

From as early as she can remember, Katie Elise has loved being in the spotlight.  She started out as a competitive gymnast for many years until she found her way to the dance studio. She immediately fell in love with it and hasn’t stopped dancing since. Her training began in hip hop, and her passion just grew from there. Since then, she has expanded her horizons and is constantly trying new styles of dance.  She has dabbled in contemporary, jazz, ballet, lyrical, modern, and Latin/ballroom.  Katie attended Lehigh University where she was a member of their dance team all four years and took on the director/captain position for both her junior and senior year.  It was her experiences on the team that solidified her decision to pursue a professional dance career upon graduation.  Katie graduated with High Honors and received her Bachelor of Science in Business and Economics from Lehigh. She is currently part of an all girl dance group called 4JUNE that can be found performing at various clubs and venues throughout New Jersey and New York. Her dance career has granted her the opportunity to dance with artists including Chris Brown, Lumidee, Kat DeLuna, Diggy Simmons, Tyra Banks, and more.  She has appeared on The Today Show, Tyra Banks Show, Paula Abdul’s Live to Dance, and 106 & Park, as well as performing live on countless stages.  Katie loves to bring her passion for dance and performance experiences to the classroom to inspire and motivate her students.  She has been working with children for over a decade and we are so excited to have Katie as part of the ADXT Staff!

Vanessa Figueroa

Hip Hop Dance Instructor

Vanessa received her Bachelor of Fine Arts in Dance with a minor in Public Relations and Advertising at Point Park University in Pittsburgh, PA in April 2019. Her training and explorations have allowed her to perform in works created by Jennifer Archibald, Tyce Diorio, Christopher Huggins, Jason McDole, Kiesha Lalama, Garfield Lemonius and more. She is also proud to be the former President of Impulse, the hip-hop club at Point Park University, where she cultivated a safe space for dancers to freely express themselves through Hip-Hop and Jazz funk forms. Vanessa is honored to have experienced opportunities such as performing “Kinex”choreographed by Kiesha Lalama at the Joyce Theatre for the NYC Dance Alliance Foundation in 2018. As well as being accepted into the Cirque Du Soleil dancer database this past Spring 2019! Figueroa continues to dedicate all of her time and energy within in a variety of artistic areas in her life. We are so happy to have Vanessa join our ADXT dance family!

Morgan Stinnett

Ballet/Pointe Instructor

Morgan grew up in Akron, OH. He attended Point Park University and majored in Dance with a Ballet concentration. His professional career started at Texas Ballet Theater before moving to NYC. Morgan has danced for over 20 regional companies and currently freelances as a soloist with Connecticut Ballet, Ballets With a Twist, K/M D/M, CelloPointe, Dances Patrelle and Ajkun Ballet Theatre. He has also performed with Craig Salstein’s (ABT) company Intermezzo Dance and is the Ballet Master for the View Dance Challenge Convention in Canada. Morgan can also be seen in Jordon Matter’s ‘Dancer’s After Dark’ and Kike Calvo’s ‘World of Dances’ for National Geographic. Recently, he was a soloist in the Broadway & Ballet Awards in NYC, performed with Broadway Sings for Pride, was a body double for a new film “Echappe” and was a dancer in the new NYC webseries “Living the Dream”. Last winter, he also performed with Cyndi Lauper in her ‘Home for the Holidays’ show at the Beacon Theater. You can also see him this fall in the new promotional dance film for NYC’s Office of Emergency Management that will be unveiled this September. We are thrilled to have Mr. Morgan as part of our ADXT dance family!

 

Emma Lupo

Hip Hop Dance Instructor

Emma began dancing at the age of 3, training in all styles. She is currently a student at Seton Hall Univeristy studying Social and Behavioral Sciences. It has been a dream of hers for as long as she can remember to teach what she has learned over the years to young students. Being so passionate about dance for so long, she was not ready to let go of it quite yet, and she is so grateful to be able to continue sharing her passion of dance with her students since graduating high school. Emma is so excited to be a part of the ADXT staff after being a student here for so many years!

 

 

Alexandra Settembrino

Tap Dance Instructor

Miss Alex began dancing at the age of three and is thrilled to combine her passions of tap and teaching at ADXT. She has training in tap, ballet, and lyrical, and competed in regional and national competitions for seven years. She danced for four years with Salve Regina University’s dance company as both a member and choreographer where she earned a Bachelor of Arts in English. She also earned a Master of Arts in English from Seton Hall University and a Master of Arts in Teaching from Drew University, and most recently worked as a high school English teacher. She lives with her husband and three children in Madison and is passionate about inspiring others to love the art of tap.
